About Tom Weisbrook

Tom Weisbrook I am a Texas-based photographer, focusing on colorful landscapes that reflect some of the most unique places in the United States. By capturing moments with magical light, my images reflect a combination of patience and dedication, with a determination to capture the images in the most captivating methods possible. It is my belief that my images have a way of conveying the feelings and stories behind each and every one, to help make the viewer feel as if they were there when the image was captured.

Photography has been a major part of my life for the last 30 years. I am a self-taught photographer, for the most part, using books and videos as my instructor; but in-the-field is where I received the majority of my knowledge.

My photography career began quite modestly, shooting weddings, portraits, and LL team pictures; but my true love is outdoor photography. It didn't take long before I realized that I would rather be in the great outdoors shooting nature, than in a studio or church shooting people. My areas of specialty include Landscapes, Architecture and Night Photography. My most recent assignment was with the Texas Parks and Wildlife, shooting a series of images of Palo Duro Canyon State Park for one of their projects.

I feel that my love and appreciation of the outdoors was instilled in me by my father, because of family vacations to numerous National and State Parks. Dad was also an avid hunter and fisherman, and would take me with him, starting at an early age.

Up to this point, the majority of my images are from the Southwest, which offers many diverse landscapes and remote places. It is my belief that "The Southwest is loaded with history and beauty, unlike any other area. To me, it is a photographer's paradise; and I enjoy capturing and sharing it's beauty."

I believe God gave me the vision to see things a little differently, and the ability to capture images of these visions. I need to capture them when I see them; because those conditions will never be the same again. I also believe it is important for me to share my work with those who want it. What I try to do when I take a photo is put some of that magic that inspired me into my images, and then to share them with the rest of the world.

Over the years, I have developed an innovative style that blends realism with a little abstract expressionism to produce images that most everyone can relate to. I also believe that the use of vibrant colors in my compositions makes my work an excellent choice for a variety of purposes and locations.
